One of the bad things about having a weekly roundup is you can have weeks where you've been working flat out and there's still little to show for it. Thankfully, Carlos has an interview with Diego Paredes-Burneo, so something has come out. It looks like June in contrast is going to be staggeringly busy. The Careers section is taking more work than I realised, but the plus side is that it's fuller than I expected too.

One side effect is I've completely missed that today is Fascination of Plants Day. In my defence, for me every day is Fascination of Plants Day. There'll be another email of the plant stories that are fascinating you at the same time next week. Until then, take care.

Diego Paredes-Burneo: From Geranium Seeds to Genomic Histories
Botany One interviews Dr Diego Paredes-Burneo, a Peruvian botanist investigating how the extraordinary biodiversity of the Tropical Andes emerged through rapid and complex evolutionary processes.

This week the Sudoku Garden commemorates Professor William Stearn. The Plant Hunt celebrates Constitution Day in Norway. This week's Plant of the Week is Aphyllon franciscanum.

There was also last week's Week in Botany, with an eco-friendly way to deter pests, resilient roots, how seeds wake at the right time, and more.
