This week we take a trip to Crete an island in the eastern Mediterranean that stretches 250km from east to west, but just 50km north to south. Crete is one of the most botanically rich islands in the Mediterranean, home to over 1,700 plant species, around 10% of which are found nowhere else on Earth. From the White Mountains to the coast, rocky slopes and olive groves are dotted with orchids, violets, and cyclamens, while stranger things push up through the leaf litter beneath the scrub. April is perhaps the best time to see it, when the landscape is at its most colourful and even the parasites are in bloom.

How to Play

Plant Hunt is a game of memory. The goal is to match all the cards in the shortest number of time and attempts. You uncover cards in pairs, by clicking or tapping the back of them. If the cards match, you'll see them in large form, and they'll stay face up. Once you get them all, you'll get a time and move count. If you like you can share this with others, or be sneaky and try again. Though you might find your memory playing tricks, the more attempts you make.

If you want more information about the plants, you'll find it below the playing area.
