Phylogenetics of the Spathelia–Ptaeroxylon clade
The genera of the Spathelia–Ptaeroxylon clade are strikingly different in terms of morphology and have been included in several families of the Sapindales. Appelhans et al. present the first detailed phylogenetic study of this group and they evaluate morphological characters that support their relationship and their placement in Rutaceae. The clade is given the rank of a subfamily, and a division into four tribes is proposed.
