Stories of 2015: September

There was an obvious star attraction in September on our Facebook page, but behind that there was quite a mix of other stories.

TheMartian

8800 viewers made the post the Martian our most popular Facebook post. Botany needed a likeable hero, and Matt Damon delivered.

Also film-oriented was news of a new website to attract pre-university students into botany, called IntoBiology. In September we admired the branding, and so did 5796 viewers.

He's not a botanist, but started running into them on a regular basis while working on writing modules for an Interdisciplinary Science course and, later, helping teach mathematics to Biologists. His degrees are in archaeology and ancient history.
